My introdution to the hospitality industry occurred during my freshman year in
college. Earning extra money and gaining experience in a field that could
possibly develop into a career were my primary motivations. For a year, I held
various positions in the front office such as PBX operator and front desk
clerk. I was then promoted to the position of Concierge. Holding this position
convinced me that my career would likely always have roots in the hospitality
industry. I had the pleasure of meeting people from all over the world, making
their wishes come true, solving their dilemmas and most importantly showing
them the most wonderful sites of one of the world's most famous cities!
Opening a Bed and Breakfast has been my dream ever since I met a woman who
operated a B&B in Maine while working as a Concierge. Hearing of her
experiences made me long to do the same thing in my city.
I cannot express how
fulfilling it is to handle little details, to introduce guest to your favorite
places or to see the pleasure on someone's face after returning from what you
know was likely one of the best meals of their life!
My husband Ken, has worked as an interior decorator and visual artist for
most of his professional career. Ken has done a wonderful job of selecting
art, color schemes and textures that give each room its own character. We
have meshed our diverse experiences and talents to create what we feel is a
uniquely authentic experience combining New Orleans' flavor with our own
culture.
